éclairs for breakfast: a country camping baby shower

A few months ago I was lucky enough to help plan and style my sister's baby shower. As she and her husband love the outdoors and camping she picked a perfect theme for her... a country camping baby shower.

I created camping themed invitations for the occasion. Each guest was given little cards with all the details of the day. I used beautiful recycled brown paper and brown string to complete the look.

To help mummy and daddy prepare for their arrival each guest was given a different time of the day to buy a gift for... 'Bath Time', 'Toy Time', 'Play Time', 'Story Time', 'Dressing Time', 'Grooming Time' and 'Feeding Time'. My eldest sister and I were given 'Mummy Time'.

Held in the perfect backyard location, we set up a tent, camping chairs and a camp fire. We painted fabulous directions signs (made by daddy) like the ones on the invitations.

A delicious afternoon tea spread (or tucker) was set up for guests to enjoy. Mum and my sisters baked the most amazing treats which included scones, chicken or ham and cheese croissants, savoury parcels, mini lemon cheesecakes, mini chocolate cupcakes, hazelnut meringue slice and mini banoffee pies. We also created little food tags that sat in pine cones in front of each treat. Guests could also enjoy orange and yellow fizzy drinks with stripy straws or a cup of tea straight from the billy. Behind the food station we hung a garland of baby bibs and colourful signs (with each time on them) with camping pegs.

We set up a s'more station near the camp fire so everyone could toast their marshmallows on a stick.

Their beautiful bundle of joy has now arrived and he is just perfect and so handsome. Congratulations to my fabulous sister and brother-in-law. Also a big thank you to my mum and two sisters for planning this super fun occasion togetherI love you all very much.
