real wedding: a beautiful and fun australian wedding - part 2

Today we have Part 2 of the beautiful and super fun storybook themed wedding of Jaimee and JK.

Jaimee and JK had super cute bridal portraits taken at the State Library, which Jaimee says 'I guess is a nod to our storybook theme after all'.

Jaimee carried an organic floral bouquet in shades of soft pinks, peaches, blues, off whites and creams. The amazing bouquet was a pretty mixture of 'garden style roses, soft pink double tulips allowed to open, pink, peach and cream ranunculus, sim carnations, snap dragons, delphinium, poppies and blushing bride'. The bouquet was designed by Green & Bloom

Their reception was held at the Mirra. Their table centres were styled with tea lights and quirky milk jugs filled with colourful snap dragons and roses from the flower markets (that Jaimee and JK picked out themselves a few days before). Guests found their seats with individual vintage soda bottles and name tags. They were given cute little badge favours made by The Hungry Workshop

Jaimee and JK had several amazing wedding cakes including a hazelnut chocolate and rose berry cake. They also had glass cake stands filled with sweet biscuits for guests to enjoy.

For their reception, Jaimee changed her bridal veil for a simpler headpiece by Johanna Johnson

Jaimee was surprised with a fabulous speech from her new husband. After a holiday years ago where they saw honeymooners dressed the same, Jaimee asked JK if they could do the same just for fun. So for their honeymoon JK presented Jaimee with a set of matching pyjamas and a cute 'I Heart JK' t-shirt to match. The couple were also surprised with Chinese dancers, a tribute to JK's background.

favourite wedding detail: The flags at the ceremony made the walk back down the aisle so joyous.

favourite wedding moment: My husband’s speech. It was such a surprise for me, and so eloquent. There was also a very sweet moment in the car on the way to the church when one of my flower girls said she was nervous because she’d never been in a wedding before. My dad reassured her by telling her that this was my first time in a wedding too. We were all so nervous and excited and it was such a sweet thing to say.

your wedding day ideas: We just wanted to create an atmosphere that our guests would enjoy and relax in and that we would both love. We wanted to look around and have all our favourite things and people in the room so that’s where we started.

your wedding day inspiration: I think the thing about weddings is most people only do them (or even are involved in planning them) once in their lifetime, so you go into it not really know where to start. I looked at some magazines but I mainly spent time on blogs, photographers blogs, wedding blogs, dress designers, lifestyle and design blogs and I went to different shops and would put things and colours together in the store. I would’ve loved for Pinterest to be around when we were planning our wedding. I made my own mood boards but that would’ve been so much easier.

Thank you Jaimee and JK for letting us share your gorgeous wedding and congratulations on an amazing day.

real wedding: a beautiful and fun australian wedding - part 1

This would have to be one of the cutest weddings ever, and Jaimee and JK are one of the cutest cuddles ever. Their beautiful and super fun wedding was held last winter in Brisbane.

Do you remember this wedding invitation package? It was Jaimee and JK's gorgeous storybook themed wedding invitations. Their intricate invitations truly reflected them as a couple and set the feel for their wedding day... a whimsical storybook romance wedding. The Hungry Workshop designed the invitations after hearing Jaimee and JK's stories about their lives together. Jaimee said that 'there were heaps of little details just for us throughout the invitation like the page number (713) which is the number of our first apartment together'.

Jaimee looked stunning in her handmade Lisa Gowing gown. It was the first gown she tried on when on a trip to Sydney. Jaimee completed her look with a non-traditional veil from the same designer. This was one of Jaimee's favourite details from the day saying she opens her cupboard at home just to steal a look at her detailed and beautiful veil.

Jaimee's bridesmaid were pretty in soft pastel Alannah Hill dresses and bright coloured shoes. JK and his groomsmen were handmsome in Rhodes and Beckett suits complete with fun bowties and neck ties. JK even had custom shoes design to match a colour in his bowtie and had their wedding date stamped on the inside of the shoe.

Jaimee and JK were married at St Mary's Anglican Church. To remember JK's father, Jaimee and JK chose to have two large white balloons tied to the church pews on the aisle, a place where they could see them throughout the ceremony. They released the balloons with their family and friends the day after the wedding at their recovery picnic.

Jaimee walked down the aisle to her favourite song 'Somewhere over the Rainbow'. As husband and wife, Jaimee and JK walked back down the aisle with guests waving super cute 'hooray', 'huzzah' and 'yay' flags at them to celebrate.

Following the ceremony, guests were treated to ice-cream treats from the Mr. Whippy van. The guests enjoyed their delicious strawberry sundaes inside the church because Jaimee and JK were married on one of the wettest days of the year. What a cute memory for everyone.

Due to the weather Jaimee and JK were taken to wedding dress friendly locations such as the Story Bridge for their bridal portraits.

Please come back tomorrow for Part 2 of this gorgeous wedding.
